In just over a decade, Josh Schuster has established himself as a standout among the next generation of real estate professionals.
The founding of Silverback Development in 2016 marked the beginning of a new chapter for the New York City-based executive, who has a proven track record of delivering successful, high-profile projects to market. Having closed more than $1 billion in real estate deals by the age of 32, Josh spearheads Silverback’s commitment to delivering projects that enhance neighborhoods by pushing the boundaries of design.
As former principal of DHA Capital, Josh sourced and led the development of many noteworthy luxury residential developments in New York City, including 50 Clinton Street, 535 West 43rd Street and 12 East 13th Street. Additionally, he acquired 75 Kenmare in the city’s Nolita neighborhood, and commissioned celebrity interior designer Lenny Kravitz to design the building’s residences.
Prior to his time at DHA, Josh served as director of development at JMH Development, where he was responsible for the trailblazing luxury renovation of 184 Kent Avenue, one of the first and most successful rental conversions in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Josh is founder and chairman of the Bicol Clinic Foundation, a non-profit organization that builds clinics that provide free medical care in developing countries. A graduate of Tulane University, Josh is the youngest board member of the Baruch College Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute. He is also a member of the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association, Urban Land Institute and the New York Private Equity Network.
Bruce brings over 33 years real estate development experience to his role as chief operating officer. He joined Cappelli Enterprises in 1999 as executive vice president and was on the firm’s executive team responsible for the acquisition, approvals, development and marketing of mixed-use, office, residential and retail developments. Prior to joining Cappelli Enterprises, Bruce was involved in corporate real estate development and construction as director of market development for AMF Bowling, Inc., director of development for Disney Development Company and project manager for Xerox Realty Corporation. During his career, Bruce has been engaged in all aspects of real estate development and construction. Notable projects include the White Plains City Center, a $500M, $1.3M SF mixed-use project, the Ritz Carlton Hotel and Residences in White Plains, a $750M, 950,000 SF mixed-use hotel/condo/office project, Disney Studios Masterplan, a 2,000,000 SF office/soundstage/back-of-house project, two 1,000,000 SF office parks for Xerox and a $600M proposed mixed-use center known as the Burbank Entertainment Center for the Walt Disney Company.
Bruce holds a BA from Trinity College and an MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
Alan Scholnick brings more than 25 years of experience to his position at Silverback Development. Having dedicated his career to real estate, finance and venture investing, Alan provides invaluable expertise. His relationships with capital sources, experience with lenders, and business-planning knowledge, make his strategic negotiating skills an integral part of Silverback’s operations.
Formerly a partner at Scofam Investment Company, Alan oversaw the firm’s strategic direction and led investment endeavors, including acquisitions, transaction structuring, asset management and dispositions. He successfully completed the financing and acquisition of 3.3 million square feet of commercial real estate, with an aggregate value in excess of $750 million. Additionally, Scofam developed and owned more than 8,000 residential units during his tenure. His judicious approach to capital formation, origination, due diligence and execution creates significant equity value for investors.
Alan, who earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, maintains leadership roles in several national charitable, civic and community organizations.
Known for an unparalleled ability to navigate both sides of a transaction, Amy Pearl attributes her real estate industry success to a rare combination of curiosity, intuition and discernment.
Amy, who chose a career in real estate due to her love of travel, exploring New York City and its architecture, and discovering the next emerging neighborhoods, possesses an innate ability to identify advantageous development opportunities.
Prior to joining Silverback, Amy served as acquisitions associate, where she handled both acquisitions and investments for best-in-class mixed-use residential and retail properties. A graduate of the University of Miami, she earned her MBA at New York University Stern School of Business, and received a master’s degree from Columbia University. She is a member of ULI Young Leaders, UJA-Federation and YJP.
Alan Glick brings almost ten years of institutional real estate experience to Silverback. Alan joined Silverback from Equity Residential, an S&P 500 company (NYSE: EQR), where he was involved in acquisitions, development and asset management of the company’s multi-billion dollar East Coast portfolio.
Prior to EQR, Alan was a member of the real estate team at Alvarez & Marsal, a leading international financial services firm recognized for turn-around and restructuring services. While at A&M, Alan advised high-profile real estate investors and lenders through distressed situations and complex transactions. Alan was also an Analyst at Lehman Brothers, where he supported the restructuring and reorganization of the investment bank.
Alan holds a B.S. in Finance from the George Washington University. He is board member at the GW Center for Real Estate and Urban Analysis and actively mentors students interested in real estate and supports GWU’s real estate programming.
Sean Copello brings wide-ranging industry experience to his role at Silverback, where he oversees sales and marketing for development projects.

of the real estate market with a creative approach to sourcing, structuring and executing
Before joining Silverback, Sean had a successful career as a real estate broker at Douglas Elliman, where he honed his marketing skills while executing a large number of residential and commercial leasing and sales transactions. His ability to vet potential investment opportunities with accuracy and precision sets him apart from his peers.
A native of New York City, Sean earned his bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University.
A recent graduate of Tulane University and a mentee to Josh Schuster, Agnes Lee possesses a BSM in finance with a minor in legal studies in business. Agnes has already established herself as an industry force, applying her analytical talents at District-15, a real estate development firm focused on retrofitting undervalued properties in emerging areas in her hometown of Hong Kong, China.
While at Tulane, Agnes partnered with fellow students to develop FailUp, a start-up company dedicated to providing an online social platform for student entrepreneurs. Agnes has also worked as an investment research manager for the Burkenroad Reports, where she led analyst teams covering various small-to medium-sized companies around the Gulf Coast, ultimately co-publishing equity research reports for more than 20,000 investors.
Lauren brings more than 30 years experience to her role as controller for Silverback Development where she is in charge of all real estate development, construction and management accounting.
Prior to joining the team, Lauren held dual roles at The Clarett Group, LLC where she served as controller for the firm’s development, construction and management accounting in addition to handling all reporting requirements and the administration of insurance policies and legal documents. Additionally, she was the MIS director.
She also ran a successful accounting and systems consulting firm of her own from 1992-1999 and spent 10 years as MIS director and controller at Park Tower Realty Corp.
